The Craig D. Butler (CDB) Scholarship Foundation was established to memorialize Craig D. Butler and deserving seniors in the inner city.

Eligibility:
Students must be a resident of Philadelphia County at the time of application.
Students must be of African American descent.
Students must have a scholastic average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Students must be entering a two or four-year college/university as a full-time freshman student in the fall of the year of the announcement of the scholarship award AND/OR students must be entering an accredited vocational-technical school as a full time freshman in the fall of the year of the announcement of the scholarship award.
Submission of the completed application and associated documents.

CDB Scholarships’ mission is to provide financial assistance to African Americans in pursuit of higher education in the aftermath of gun violence. Our cardinal principle is to ensure that African Americans from underserved populations are not economically disadvantaged to receive a quality education.
