Programs include the OTTER Program, AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program, AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Program, and AmeriCorps Seniors – Senior Companion Program.

Volunteer Information:

Senior Companion Program (SCP): For volunteers 55+ and get paid to volunteer! Volunteers for this program serve as friends and companions to older neighbors, making sure they can live in their own homes for as long as possible. They may assist with daily living tasks, such as shopping, paying bills, remembering to take medications, etc. Once volunteers are approved and meet certain income guidelines, they will also receive a small stipend for the time they volunteer. Minimum of 15 hours per week. Volunteers serve 15 to 40 hours a week in locations such as public and private schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Head Start centers. Each volunteer completes a pre-service orientation and training. Once volunteers are approved and meet certain income guidelines, they will also receive a small stipend for the time they volunteer. They play a critical role with educational success, human needs, homelessness, health and wellness, hospital support, and senior services. AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Volunteers must be at least 55 years old, receive training for their service area, and are honored at a recognition banquet every year. Volunteers are trained in early literacy best practices and read aloud high quality, age-appropriate books while engaging early learners in activities that build phonemic awareness, vocabulary acquisition, reading comprehension, and a pure joy for reading. Donation Information:

1. Monetary donations are accepted to support all our programs by providing for our volunteers and the people they serve. 2. If you are a company that would like to donate b-day cards, thank you cards, sympathy cards, and stationery then our volunteers can enjoy a little support throughout the year and show how much we appreciate them. 3. We collect donations that we can use at our yearly Volunteer Recognition. We include them as a door prize that our volunteers can win during the event. Most of our volunteers are on a fixed income and this is something special to them. gift certificates, trips, or new items that our senior volunteers can use and enjoy.
