Legal Rights Institute (LRI) is dedicated to advancing the fundamental rights of all persons by focusing on basic freedoms and inherent rights of groups and individuals who are overlooked or go unprotected. LRI strives to provide a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. LRI works to identify violations of human rights, combat rights violations, raise awareness of the fundamental rights of all persons, and advance democracy and the rule of law. To achieve these goals LRI employs numerous including the provision of legal support for both the survivors of gender and identity-based violence and the human rights defenders who are also targeted in such matters; assisting victims of trafficking, and combating the commission of gender and identity-based violations, including "honour" crimes, forced and child marriages, temporary marriages, stoning executions, and child executions through rights-based advocacy and legal interventions.
