We are a nonprofit project working on a PILOT DIGITAL PHOTO WORKSHOP for young people using simple digital cameras and a computer lab and classroom at the Arlington Mill Community Center. The workshop will meet for 1-1/2 to 2 hours after school every Thursday for a period of 8 weeks. Students will take photos independently and work with them in the computer lab. This project is supported by the Arlington County Recreation and Cultural Affairs divisions. This project is an offshoot of an 8-year program which just ended. MISSION: to engage youngsters in a creative and fun activity after school while teaching basic digital photography and computer photo skills as well as to pilot a new photo program that is usable in many settings with minimal costs (estimated at $150 per student).
