To provide quality training and development to AmeriCorps members that will solicit the empowerment of young people and the communities in which they live. Our belief is that adequate and responsive intervention can be first sought as viewing our members as valuable resources. The MAAP AmeriCorps program works to cultivate members and equip them with the necessary tools to serve as positive asset-builders in the community. MAAP AmeriCorps members will work through the YMCA and other community organizations to serve and develop youth and children focusing on the 40 developmental assets as stated by the Search Institute.
