The Excel Institute was founded in 1998 by former Washington Redskin George Starke. Starke saw too many young people taking chances with their lives because they had no chance to make something of their lives. The Excel program consists of: A two-year automotive technology training program GED programs where necessary Work-study programs after the first year Job placement assistance Those who join the Institute must want to change their fate.
