Experience Corps of Washington DC utilizes the services of older adults (55+) to tutor and mentor children in DC public schools. Tutors help first second and third graders with basic reading skills (4 hours a week). Male mentors work with at-risk fifth and sixth grade boys who need positive male role models (2 hours a week).
