GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) aims to increase students' academic performance and preparation for college; increase students' educational expectations and their families knowledge of college options and financing; increase students' college application and acceptance rates; provide comprehensive early intervention services for those students who are academically at risk; ensure the establishment of effective partnerships between area universities and colleges with participating public schools.
