*Client Choice Food Pantry: A collaborative pilot project that creates an atmosphere of dignity for clients and allows them to actually select their own food that better suits their nutritional and health needs by shopping in a grocery-store setting. This program serves clients in the 70805 zip code who meet federal poverty guidelines. 2005: served 3,494 persons from 970 families. 2006 estimates: serve 3,843 persons from 1,067 families. *Family Mentoring: A unique mentoring program that matches a recently homeless family in transitional housing or a family at-risk for homelessness with a team of mentors to help guide the family on its path to self-sufficiency. Mentors help clients make sound decisions and connect them to resources in the community. Clients are screened then referred by partnering agencies. 2005: mentored 26 persons from 11 families. 2006 estimates: mentor 126 persons from 36 families
