The Sankofa Council works to facilitate an interac involvement and service to communities throughout the African Diaspora. The Sankofa Council for Africana Empowerment was started by a group of students who felt that the Black Studies Dept at our University was not reaching out to the Black Studies minors. Our organization's goal is to facilate scholarly discourse outside the classroom on issues that affect members of the African Diaspora. We do this by holding conferences and forums at our University and also by attending conferences nation wide.
