The mission of the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County is to promote the safety, well-being and best interest of victims of family violence, sexual assault and child abuse, and to advocate for the prevention of such crimes. Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County, Inc. (RCC) provides an array of services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. These are conducted through our client service programs that include: Residential Crisis Services, Non-Residential Services, Community Outreach, Volunteer Outreach, Legal Client Services and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Through Residential Crisis Services, a safe-shelter is provided to victims and their children of domestic violence. Through Non-Residential Services, direct client crisis intervention is provided for victims requiring intervention, however not a shelter. Additionally, it provides medical advocacy accompaniment to victims that have been sexually assaulted. Through Community Outreach, trainings are provided regarding prevention and for the identification of victims. Through Volunteer Outreach, volunteers are recruited for CASA services as well as the agency as a whole and work directly with RCC clients. Legal services assist clients with protective orders and represent such clients in court and finally, CASA through volunteers works directly with children who are in the Galveston County foster care system as appointed by a judge through the Galveston County Family courts Volunteer Information: We have many different options for volunteering.
