In year 2000, Treasured Celebrations was founded and established because of the generous donations that were given to underwrite their efforts to provide the Modern Day Princess programs for at-risk teen girls across the nation and internationally. For the last 12 years Treasured Celebrations has been fulfilling their mission statement by "Empowering Women to Equip our Teen Girls." They have empowered thousands of moms and mentors of teen girls through the resources they provide. First, by way of imparting insight on the value and purpose of a rite-of-passage into womanhood through the book, Raising a Modern Day Princess (published and released by Focus on the Family/Tyndale). Second is, Treasured Celebrations provides the Becoming A Modern Day Princess Leader's Guide that assists any mom, mentor or youth faciliator to take their daughter or girls through the 10 Session Becoming a Modern Day Princess Journal, also published by Focus on the Family/Tyndale. Upon completion of the 10 sessions a ceremony is provided with the opportunity for the family or a group of girls to invite their family and friends to their celebration. Then life-impacting moments began as their fathers, or another man of integrity of their choice, imparts his public words of affirmation and crowns her a Modern Day Princess. In 2005 a Community-based program was created and approved by the State of New Mexico's CYFD (Children, Youth & Family Department) for use in state funded organizations, such as public schools and other state funded organizations. As of 2012, Treasured Celebrations has reached over 30,000 parents, mentors and youth organization leaders enabling them to equip their daughters or girls to see their purpose, value and strength, becoming true Modern Day Princesses.
