We are animal lovers who formed an animal welfare league (incorporated in April 2005) to contract with Mason County WV to run the animal shelter. As far as we know this relationship is the first of it's kind in WV and we thank the county officials for their compassion for these animals and willingness to work with us. Budget constraints should not be a reason for animals to die and we appreciate your openminded response to our proposal.We do not believe in euthanasia due to overcrowding. We believe shelters should be safe havens for abandoned/surrendered/stray pets and are working hard toward a goal of no kill and spay/neuter as a much better alternative.
